This course provides a thorough introduction to statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel, equipping you with the tools and techniques needed to analyze, interpret, and visualize data in a professional setting. You begin with foundational statistical functions and ranking tools before diving into Excel's Data Analysis ToolPak, which streamlines complex statistical calculations. Core analytical methods are covered in depth, including descriptive statistics, T-tests, straight line analysis, simple linear regression, and multiple regression, giving students a solid framework for understanding relationships within data.

The course also explores data visualization and advanced forecasting techniques, teaching you how to build histograms, waterfall charts, and probability models. You are introduced to powerful tools such as the POISSON distribution, Solver, Monte Carlo Simulation, and resampling methods, all of which are essential for modeling risk and uncertainty in real-world decision-making scenarios. - Rank values to establish percentages and percentiles

- Quickly and easily perform statistical calculations with the Data Analysis Toolpack add-in

### Statistical Analysis

#### Descriptive Statistics

- Compare two sets of data by 16 different, statistical measures

#### T Tests

- Calculates whether the means of two groups are statistically different from each other

#### Straight Line Analysis

- Graphically estimate the relationship between two variables

#### Simple Linear Regrssion

- Estimate the relationship between two variables

#### Multiple Regression

- Estimate the relationship between more than two variables

### Charts

#### Histogram

- Divide values into intervals and represent the frequency of data values in each interval with a bar

#### Waterfall Chart

- Visually display how an intitial value is affected by a series of positive and negative values

### Probability and Forecast Modelling

#### POISSON Distribution

- Calculate the probability of a given number of events occurring in a fixed interval of time or space

#### Solver

- Calculate optimal solutions to multi-variable decision problems

#### Monte Carlo Simulation

- Better understand the impact of risk and uncertainty in forecasting models

#### Resampling

- Make statistical inferences from data by sampling with replacement

Yes, this course is open to beginners. Students must be comfortable using a computer. No other prior knowledge is required.

### Can I take this course online (remote learning)?

You may attend this training virtually (online) at the scheduled time the course is offered (New York, Eastern Time). How does attending “live online” work? Students can attend this training remotely through screen sharing software (we use Zoom). Participants can hear the instruction, ask questions, and even share their screen with the instructor. For audio you can use your computer’s microphone/speakers or call a phone number that we’ll provide. Classes are activity-based and taught by a live instructor, so we strongly encourage students who are local to the area to attend in person! You will need your own computer and copy of any required software. If you don’t have the software, you can usually do a free trial or purchase your own license. ### What happens if I need to miss a session?

You have some options: You can watch a recording of the session. We will provide any course materials. If you can’t come into the classroom but can still attend remotely, we will provide you with the Zoom login information. You can use your free retake to make up any missed class time.
